Childbirth Biz – Keywords for Beginners
The Internet to me is like a fantastic, huge, global library.
When I was a kid (the internet didn’t exist yet) I’d go to the library to “research” topics for various book reports.
Libraries had, and still do, these “category” boxes stuffed with cards, each having a book name and ID number printed on them. These card boxes were called “catalogues” and alphabetically ordered. I’d spend endless hours looking for my “topic ” or “subject” using “keywords”, writing down the book and ID number when I found it, and then, and only then – search through the volumes of rows of books looking for the one I needed. Whew !
A “keyword” is the same as the “topic word” or “subject” we use at the library. But the Internet is an incredible library and using keywords helps you find information on a subject or interest. They also help you to find business niches, and what people are looking for within that business niche.
The best definition of a “keyword” is from the InternetMarketingCenter:
“A keyword is a word OR phrase that is used as a search term a person types into a search engine to find information. Often, a keyword is a problem statement that describes the problem the person is trying to solve”
This is why keywords and doing “keyword searches” are important for your business because they help you to define and create services and products that provide solutions for your customers and clients – solutions they are actually looking for on the internet.
Keywords are not a mystery. They are a beginning tool to build your business and structure your website for better traffic!
Here is a good educational video about keyword searches. I am not an affiliate. But I thought this video was very informative – I learned a few things as well!
