How To Find Your Calm
The “space ” between your random thoughts and thinking is the place where calm is found, and so much more.
What on earth am I talking about – you might ask. That’s understandable if you’ve never questioned it or experienced it. But with all the “stress” rampant in our lives, finding time to relax, or just calm down is a challenge – yet so important! Especially if your pregnant, especially now around the holidays.
90% of stress is self-induced by our own thoughts and constant thinking.
Are you willing to slow your thoughts down to experience mental and emotional calm?
Here’s the how to. But there will be a challenge and it’s this – you’ll be inpatient, bored, feel like you’re wasting time, restless, fidgety, and possibly give up. Stay with it. This is where you’ll find your calm, the “space” between thoughts.
- do this where ever you are, at work, home, in a waiting room (never when driving a car), etc.
- sit comfortably and upright
- breathe deeply
- as random thoughts come into your mind (they will), acknowledge them, then focus back on your breathing. The thoughts will dissipate. The thoughts you’ll have will most likely be what you need to do, places you need to go, I’m wasting time sitting here doing nothing, wasting time … and so on. Let them come, let them go, remain focused on your breathing.
- you’ll feel calmer and rested
Your “space” of calm is within the breathing and stillness of thought. Practice several times a day. This is a way to zap stress and bring calm into your life everyday.
