Needs Are Changing
This past week-end I taught two Mindful birth classes. The first was a one, 3 hour session class using the “Calm Birth” Cd. The other was a 3 hour class for three sessions over three weeks.
I love teaching these classes because they open new ways of thought and methods to use to decrease stress and even pain, during labor.
I always tell my couples for…
as many things your body does to cause discomfort during labor, your body and mind have systems in place to create comfort.
These classes are “cutting edge” for childbirth education . It’s very exciting – if you can find a class like this, take it.
Interesting, over the years couples seemed to be content with taking the, what I call “traditional” childbirth classes based on Dr. Lamaze’s philosophy. Over the past couple of years I am noticing more moms-to-be interested in more “natural” solutions for labor, and decreasing stress and anxiety during pregnancy and birth of their babies.
Also, moms who had a prior birth, are taking these classes because they want a better experience than the first, or learn how to cope with labor, are increasing.
For me, this is awesome to be able to offer an alternative perspective to learn and use to cope with labor better.
Learning Mindful Meditation is that perspective.
It is the “inner” work you learn to do to change how you emotionally respond to anxiety, stress, and physical pain.
The “outer” work are those things you have relied on outside yourself, your doctor, advice from family and friends, etc.
Learning what you can do, on your own, can make all the difference.
I know, you think this is crazy. It’s not, you just haven’t been educated or brought up to date about what’s current in mind/body science. And what is being discovered is absolutely amazing.
With daily practice you’ll experience the greatest benefit over time.
Open your mind and learn something that will last a life time as well as very helpful with your little one..
