Reiki (Rei=universe, Ki=energy) is a Japanese healing art using energy transfered from the practitioner to the client. This high frequency, subtle energy promotes healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. It is an honored art of healing passed down through generations from a Reiki Master to students.
The lineage of the Reiki passings is an important part of the tradition because the teachings are traced back to the founder, Makeo Usui.
And so, one can not learn Reiki or become a Masteron their own unless they take Reiki I, II and level III, and then training to become a Reiki Master. Each level has an attunement process that must be experienced in person.
One must experience the transfer of energy which is interpreted differently from person to person.
Reiki is used in a variety of settings and enviornments: Spas, health clubs, hospitals, hospice, spiritual retreats. It is becoming more and more accepted as a complementary medicine practice. It can be used for:
pregnancy & labor
emotional, physical healing
stress, relaxation
illness
general well-being
proactive well-being
Reiki involves hand positions on the body which transferes energy. All Reiki is good energy. Some call it "God's energy", or "life force from God".
Reiki is an amazing, loving, and honored art.

Why Reiki during pregnancy? Because your body is going through tremendous changes in providing an environment for the fetus to develop and grow in.
Whenever you are stressed you transmit stressful energy to every muscle and cell in your body, and to your unborn child. You are literally sharing your body with your baby until it's born.
There are two separate life-forces. Two unique energies working together. Reiki can balance the energies, enhance connections, or "bonding", between you and your baby creating a calmer, more harmonized environment. Reiki is relaxing during pregnancy and contributes to your overall well-being. It can also be used during labor.
