This site was created to provide the Internet community with an online childbirth class. The information offered here encompasses the philosophy of Lamaze (R) International that birth is a normal, natural process! My own philosophy will reveal itself as you read these pages. There are discussions on relaxation techniques, journaling as a way to release tension and worries while focusing on the positive aspects of your pregnancy, even hypnosis, breathing methods, tips for dads, music - well, and so on!!
Natural childbirth is an experience left up to you, your body and mother nature. No medications or medical interventions are used. It is possible to birth naturally! I've witnessed it! And, it's absolutly amazing. It's also absolutely amazing to see a baby being born even if the mom used medications! BUT, if you choose medications-that's alright too because it is YOUR right to choose the kind of birth you want or need!
( Read pgs. 83 & 85 in your book ) What book? Read on to find out about - the book.
This online class is a supplement to your actual childbirth education class. If you are not able to take a childbirth class, this site will provide you with information about childbirth preparation, relaxation techniques, and more. There are classes in childbirth education, relaxation techniques and hypnosis for childbirth, with me as your fabulous educator! You will LEARN much!

2. A complete childbirth class on on video available at Childbirth Class (very good)
Watching these videos combined with this site will give you a good foundation in what to expect during your childbirth experience and ways to prepare for it at home. You can also contact Lamaze (R) International , or other childbirth Ed. organizations to find a childbirth educator in your area who might teach privately and come to your home. Disclaimer
Certainly going to a live class is best because in a class setting you will see, learn and do breathing, and relaxation exercises that can not be effectively taught here. You must also remember that there are many teaching styles. Usually all childbirth education classes are consistent in information. What is usually unique about them is they depend on how your instructor teaches the material and the philosophy of the TYPE of class it is - Lamaze (R), Bradley(R), etc,. you've enrolled in.
I hope what you learn here will be positive and enhance your education and birthing experience. And, as you tour the "e-class", you'll see there is a strong belief in the connection between your state of mind and its influence on physical responses in your body.
Let's be honest, going to a childbirth education class is not on the top ten list

How it works
You can tour the e-class randomly following your particular interests, or you can follow the numbers along side the headings on the menu to your left. The numbers next to the headings are meant to guide you through the information in an organized manner. The topics are meant to flow into the next to build on the information presented earlier. You'll get the most out of it if you follow it consecutively. The choice is yours.
The topics will provide information and discussions with explanations when needed. There are also suggested readings from other sites that you can access immediately, which is the intent. If you are using the Birth.Ed.Guide, readings will follow the sequence of this site, not the contents of the book itself. You will see here on the pages: Read this or Please read page # in your book.
Please register, it's free. When you register, you let us know how many people are reading the information presented on this site, and your name is automatically submitted into the monthly random drawing for a FREE Birth.Ed.Guide.
I welcome your comments and suggestions. This site is for you, so if there is something you would like to know more about, let me know! I want the feedback. I also do my very best to search the Internet for related, interesting information to reinforce a topic, to give you something else to ponder about, and maybe even a different perspective! The sites may change. Disclaimer
What is the Birth.Ed.Guide? It is a packet of information, including the book I use in my private classes, Prepared Childbirth-The Family Way, by Debby Amis and Jeanne Green, a Starter Journal, and other items. References will be made to this book as you tour the e-class. If you have received a copy of the Birth.Ed.Guide, just read the corresponding pages relating to the topic on this site. Purchasing the Birth.Ed.Guide is optional.
All childbirth education classes, be it Lamaze)(R), Bradley(R), ICEA, and others, all share the common goal in guiding you, assisting you, preparing you, and informing you of your options in planning a natural childbirth experience. Here, you'll also find information on medications to help you make informed decisions. All of it aimed to help you to make your experience a rewarding one.
