This website is one of many services offered through U Smile Communications. This site focuses on providing information to expectant singles and couples on childbirth education, as well as physical and mental wellbeing. It is also for women on bedrest during their pregnancy, and for those who for what ever personal reason cannot attend an actual childbirth ed class.  Teleconferences are available at very reasonable fees.

Childbirth is a natural phenomenon.  The power of the mind is championed here, and you have the power to experience a satisfying birth, and one without fear. Certainly one with decreased stress!  Education will do this. By learning about the process of birth, ways to relax to enhance the birth of your child, knowing your options and choices regardless of WHERE you birth will prepare, inform, and hopefully decrease any anxieties you may have.  This website also champions choices in birthing environments such as birthing centers, homebirths with a midwife, hospitals, and waterbirths.

It is believed your decisions are the best regardless of where you deliver because you know what is best for you, and what you want based on your personal needs.  You are responsible for those decisions based on the information you have gathered, digested, and discussed with your partner, and health care provider, to make choices and educated decisions that are best for you.

If you choose a hospital birth it is advised you are made aware of all the medical interventions that may or may not occur during the birth of your baby. This is not an isolated suggestion relating only to childbirth, for all medical procedures that are done
in a hospital are explained beforehand including benefits and side effects. However, the major difference is this: You are not ill! You are having a baby, and you have chosen the hospital to have your baby. Therefore, you need to be aware of what the medical procedures are so that you may make educated decisions to accept, compromise, or refuse them.

Whatever you choose, your pregnancy and birth can be humerous, serious, exhilarating, and a challenging experience, as well as absolutely amazing!  It is as unique as you, and because of that uniqueness, the delivery of your baby will be unlike anyone elses.  It will also be an experience, a moment in your life, that you and your partner will remember your whole lives.

The "Mechanics" of birth are universal, but HOW you birth is totally individual and personal.  How you birth depends on the educated decisions you make.  How you birth depends on the birthing options available to you, and the ones you choose that will
work best for you.  How you birth depends on how you view your life, your values, what
is important to you, your attitude, and your faith in your healthcare provider.  How you
birth will depend on your own anatomy, physiology, and personal interpretation of discomfort. No one is exactly alike physically, emotionally, or anatomically.  No one feels sensations exactly the same. How you birth will depend on your ability to relax, to allow your body to do what it knows how to do - birth.

Now, this in NOT a militant site and what that means is this: The information provided here, is just that - information, and of course, subjected to the founder's interests. There is no wrong way or right way to have a baby.  The content displayed will not be tainted with arguments as to what you SHOULD do, or what classes to take, or WHERE you should have your baby, or who should deliver it.  These are YOUR decisions and yours alone!

The purpose here is to present to you varied information from which you may use in helping to make your decisions.  Opinions are rampant and blatant opinions usually have negative outcomes in affecting the lives of others.  People grow more, learn more, and apply what they have learned when they are exposed to information in a nonjudgemental manner.

We live in the age of information and it's overwhelming because of the choices that are available as a result.  You would think this is a good thing, but actually all this information scares the crap out of us!  Many couples in childbirth classes want to know the worst, they hear horrible stories and fear it will happen to them.  Rather than focus on the positive, fear is kept alive, and what does fear do?  So much of how you birth your child is related directly to your emotional state of mind.

The vision is this:  If you visit here and leave feeling good about what you've read, learned, tucked away in your brain for later, wanting to learn more, come back to visit,  or has helped you in your decision making, maybe you even laughed a little, or even shared this site with a friend, well then, what had only been imagined you will have made a reality.

Thanks for the visit and stay positive!
