Smartbirth ™ classes explore personal coping skills, attitudes, the “mechanics” of birth, positions, and in-depth relaxation.
Self–trust is nurtured throughout Smartbirth ™ classes because birth is an “internal” process that you’ll be experiencing. You’ll be challenged emotionally and physically. But when you have the “tools” you’ll be able to manage it. Labor is manageable! Childbirth is all about you and how you choose to respond to and cope with it. Yet it is also full of love to embrace throughout the process.
The more you become self-reliant, trust your instincts, know how to use your body, and believe in your abilities to birth, the better your experience will be
Smartbirth TM classes provide “hands-on” practice and focus on relaxation and best breathing methods to use during during labor and birth. “Mindfulness meditation” is also explored as a useful labor management “tool” to decrease stress and “labor pain”..
You can have a positive birth experience regardless if you choose to have an epidural or not. The Goal of Smartbirth ™ is to provide you with education and “tools” that nurture and are effective while igniting a belief in your own abilities to birth your baby with confidence. Childbirth is a loving and happy event! Smartbirth ™ will guide and prepare you for this amazing day, the birth of your baby.
Smartbirth ™ Philosophy:
When a woman understands how her body works, how to use it, believes in her own personal “birth talents”, she’ll birth using her innate know-how. This combined with self-trust,knowing what works or feels right, practicing relaxation and other proactive skills, can create an empowering and satisfying birth experience, that she alone masters.
